The power of PT
“There’s nothing like a good workout session to boost your mood and keep you healthy.”
Something I never thought I would say.
I never really had plan, I never even had a goal! Training twice a week with personal trainer, Barry Jacobsz at Pure Fitness, pushes me to new limits without me even realising. Just when I think I can’t go anymore, he encourages me to hold it for another minute, or do 10 more reps. He sets the goals for me, with a little encouragement from my husband, I am sure! So if you see them plotting, let me know!
Barry also works with me to optimise each session to target different muscles, ones I didn’t even know I had. While watching yourself in the mirror can help you make sure your form is correct, it’s even better when someone is there to tweak it while you work. And if nothing else, he keeps count! OK, maybe this is just me being lazy, but I just love the fact that someone else is keeping track of my reps, especially when I can barely lift my arms (let alone think) anymore.
Having dipped in and out of exercise all my life, now as a woman in my forties, I am the fittest I have ever been. Even better, I am actually enjoying it and looking for challenges to put my hard work to good use. Watch this space!
